Stick your foot in it from a dead stop and see if you can here it over the tires melting and exhaust. Yeah the IAC makes noise. I like it when it's very low volume and sounds like a turbo. When it's loud, it is annoyingly loud. Mine is only loud if I'm well below my cams useful power range when I put my foot down.

I had it into my mechanic , and the connector that plugs into the crank sensor was corroded. I picked up a new connector and had him solder it on for me and the rpm gauge stopped acting funny.
